Troubleshooting
This section covers questions and solutions to the most common issues you may encounter with akuaplus® products, helping you resolve problems quickly and efficiently.
What should I do if the water flow from my tap is weak or irregular?
Verify that the aerator isn't clogged. Remove it, clean it with water, and reinstall.
- Check if the shut-off valves under the sink are fully open.
- Inspect the supply lines for kinks or blockages.
Why does my tap drip when it's turned off?
Generally due to a worn or dirty cartridge.
- Remove and clean the cartridge according to the instructions in your manual.
- If the problem persists, the cartridge may need to be replaced.
Why is the water flow from my hand shower or showerhead weak?
- Check the anti-limescale nozzles. Gently rub the nozzles with your fingers to remove limescale buildup.
- If necessary, soak the showerhead or hand shower in a solution of equal parts warm water and white vinegar for several hours, then rinse thoroughly.
What should I do if water does not flow evenly from my hand shower or showerhead?
- Disassemble and inspect the product.
- Clean any mineral buildup from the nozzles and check for possible obstructions.
Why does my water temperature fluctuate?
For a pressure-balanced valve:
- Frequent temperature variations are usually caused by sudden changes in water pressure within the plumbing system (e.g., simultaneous use of other faucets or appliances).
- Check and clean the pressure balance cartridge according to your manual.
- Ensure the cartridge is free from mineral deposits by cleaning it with a vinegar-water solution.
- Apply plumbing grease before reinstalling to optimize functionality.
For a thermostatic valve:
- Constant fluctuations usually indicate that the thermostatic cartridge is obstructed or that mineral deposits prevent precise temperature regulation.
- Remove the thermostatic cartridge as per your manual, then thoroughly clean it with a vinegar-water solution.
- Check the condition of the integrated filter (if applicable), clean it or replace it if necessary.
- Apply plumbing grease before reinstalling to ensure precise temperature control.
Why does my faucet or valve produce noise or vibrations (banging)?
- Ensure the pipes used meet recommendations (copper pipes recommended; PEX pipes may cause vibrations).
- Ensure all fittings are properly tightened and correctly installed.
